On October 1st 2006, fire safety law is changing as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety order) comes into force. As an ownr or occupier of premises, the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 require a Fire Risk Assessment to be undertaken by a competent person. Without it, organisations will be liable to prosecution. The fire service will provide advice only, it is up to you to conduct a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk.
A fire risk assessment is there to help you determine any potential fire hazard. Peterlee Fire Company offer a Fire Risk Assessment service individual to your requirements, can advise on any necessary steps to be taken in order to comply with the new regulations and if necessary, quote on any work needed.
Peterlee Fire Company aim to offer a complete end to end solution for fire protection within your company.
